Guy and his wife Liz purchased a small bloodstock insurance company in 1991 and spent the next 30 years developing it into KBIS British Equestrian Insurance.  They developed KBIS into one of the top four equine brokers in the country, offering excellent customer service, with a reputation for having expert staff and employed over 40 people.  They are proud of the business they created and made a decision to sell it in 2020 to move on to new challenges.

Guy and Liz then turned to their equal passion, sailing and everything marine. Along with Keith Lovett and Will Prest, they set up Stoneways Marine Insurance Services. 

From the early years Guy spent a lot of time on the water. Starting on the West coast of Scotland both in dinghy’s and small motor boats as a child and then sailing cruiser racers for many years including skippering in 4 Fastnet campaigns.  

Guy then changed course and purchased a Windy 37 which both Liz and Guy enjoy cruising on the South Coast including trips to the Scillies and Brittany.  They also charter boats abroad whenever possible. 

Guy and Liz are bringing the lessons learnt with KBIS to Stoneways Marine Insurance Services using the same principles of good service, quality cover, excellent value and a dedicated team of people who share the same passion for everything marine.
