The Stoneways’ Amateur Boating Photographer of the Year Competition 2023 theme: ‘Boating And You’
Calling all keen photographers! Stoneways Marine’s Amateur Boating Photographer of the Year Competition is back for 2023 with a brand new theme and an exciting lineup of prizes.
An ideal opportunity for anyone passionate about photography or simply the world of all things marine, Stoneways Marine, the marine insurance provider, is calling for everyone in the marine industry across the UK to submit their photographs for the 2023 Amateur Boating Photographer of the Year Competition, portraying what being on the water means to them as a part of their day-to-day life and snaps that showcase just how special being part of the British marine industry really is.
Following on from the success from previous years’ competitions, 2023’s theme will be ‘Boating And You’. The Stoneways team are especially interesting in receiving Amateur Boating Photographer of the Year entries from participants who view boating as both a business and a lifestyle and those who work in the marine trade industry.
“The world of marine trade is vast – whether you design, valet, build, sail, repair, maintain or operate boats for recreation, we’d love to see your work in action. Even if you are simply proud of a paint job you have polished, send in a photo. And of course, we’re excited to see everyone’s snapshots of glorious sundowners and beautiful clear sky sailing too. No matter how you interpret 2023’s theme, all photographs are welcome,” commented Keith Lovett, Managing Director & Senior Underwriter at Stoneways Marine.
Those looking to take part in the competition are encouraged to submit entries as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Those wishing to take part can do so via emailing entries via info@stoneways.co.uk with the subject line ‘Boating and You’. Entries will close on October 23 2023 at midnight.
The best Amateur Boating Photographer of the Year photos will be featured on not one but FOUR top marine websites, including yachtsandyachting.com, sail-world.com, powerboat.world and marinebusinessworld.com.
What’s more, the winning media will be included within a special feature on the Stoneways Marine website. They will also be showcased in the company’s 2024 marine industry calendar, distributed widely around the industry.
If that wasn’t enough, one lucky overall winner will receive a special bundle of prizes, with several exciting runner-up prizes up for grabs too. Here’s what you could win…

Photo Competition T&Cs:
- This competition is open to members of the public. Both members of the leisure boating and marine trade communities.
- Entrants must own the copyright to the images submitted and the images must be original, previously unpublished photos.
- Entrants may edit their photos using editing software prior to submission.

To Be Eligible, Entries Must Include:
- A photo of your boat or a related subject matter to the marine industry.
- High-quality photos (over 1MB).
- Photos in a landscape format.
- Original photos only.
