On the 10th October 2020 Stoneways Marine will be supporting the World Health Organization’s World Mental Health Day, which has the objective of ‘raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health’.
This year’s theme ‘mental health for all’ promotes greater investment and greater access for everyone, everywhere.
At Stoneways Marine, we appreciate that many who suffer accidents afloat do not just endure physical loss or damage to their vessel. Ensuring clients mental wellbeing following an accident may be more important than ensuring a damaged vessel is repaired.
With that in mind, Stoneways Marine’s market leading yacht and motorboat insurance policy incorporates a unique Mental Health Support Services endorsement that provides financial support for those onboard a vessel at the time of an accident to access mental health support services, following referral by a medical practitioner.
Stoneways Marine’s Senior Underwriter, Keith Lovett, commented that ‘over the years we have seen many owners and crew suffer following an accident afloat beyond physical damage and even injury. Access to the right service at the right time can make all the difference in ensuring a good outcome for clients. We feel very strongly that access to mental health support services is a key part of our offering to the UK yacht and motorboat market.’
